Shared context is not equal authority
A repair can involve a tenant who reports the problem, a landlord or property team that authorizes work, and a contractor who proposes or performs it. HomeLantern helps keep their relevant conversation together. Their responsibilities and access are not interchangeable.
Neutral coordination describes the product's goal of making the process clearer for participants. It is not an independent adjudication service and should not be read as a guarantee that software can resolve every disagreement fairly.
Keep facts with the work
Use the relevant property or job conversation for scope, access arrangements, and follow-up. Confirm that a message was saved and that the intended participants have access. For intake, follow submitting maintenance requests; for quotes, use the contractors and estimates guide.
An AI-generated summary is a suggestion to review, not another person's approval. Do not treat a completed UI card as proof of a created record without checking the actual result.
An illustrative disagreement
A tenant says a repair is incomplete; a contractor describes work performed; the property team asks for clarification. A shared thread can retain the currently accessible statements and files. The system does not determine who is legally correct or whether insurance must pay.
An authorized participant can download a conversation packet for review. The packet does not grant permission to disclose unrelated information or retrieve another participant's private records.
Boundaries are part of neutrality
Data protection limits the audience. Compliance-first design distinguishes recorded steps from obligations outside the app. The coordination layer explains how those pieces connect.
When a disagreement requires legal, insurance, or professional judgment, use the appropriate independent professional. For a product error, contact support with the affected page and error text, with unrelated private details removed.
