Emergency situations

Know when immediate help must come before an app maintenance report.

Immediate danger comes first

  • HomeLantern does not provide emergency services. Do not wait for AI, a support email, or a maintenance report when there is immediate danger.
  • In the United States, call 911 for an emergency. Elsewhere, contact local emergency services. Follow emergency-service and utility-provider instructions.

Contact your property team

  • Use emergency contact instructions supplied by your landlord or property team. App messages are not a substitute for those instructions.
  • When safe, tell the property team what happened and whether emergency services or a utility provider were contacted.

Document after it is safe

  • Record the time, affected area, and photos only when safe. Never enter an unsafe area to collect evidence.
  • Submit or update a report for follow-up. App reporting does not guarantee immediate dispatch or a response time.
